March 2011 Meeting

Good afternoon Region 5 Council Members! I hope you are all having a wonderful week!

I think at this point most of you are aware of our new YRCC Region 5 Coordinator, Xavier Davis. We are very excited to have Xavier on board and know that this year will be one filled with action for our Region!

I wanted to remind you that our March meeting will take place on Thursday, March 31, 2011. Please RSVP NOW (Click Here: RSVP ). Please make sure that you do RSVP so that we may make proper arrangements and accommodate all of you. Our meeting will begin at 11:00 am - 1:00 pm and refreshments will be served.

Welcome To Our Blog ! The Youth Ready Chicago Community Council Region 5 is a three-year initiative that engages community members, youth-serving organizations, and the City Department of Family and Support Services in developing a coordinated regional and citywide network of programs, services, and resources available to youth during out of school time throughout Chicago. SWYC is the lead coordinating organization for Region 5. Boundaries for Region 5 include: Harlem Avenue to the west, Lake Michigan to the east, 83rd Street to the south, and 55th Street to the north. Through monthly meetings, subcommittees and task forces, organizations throughout this region can provide support and network with one another. Meetings are held the last Thursday of every month and various organizations are in attendance in Region 5. Check our blog daily for information on events and services throughout region and the city.
