As committed individuals working to accomplish the Southwest Youth Collaborative's (SWYC) mission in helping young people thrive and achieve in their lives, we are asking all of you for your support.

Please act now by voting for our following projects:

Urban Options--The Urban Options Project has created a pipeline of academic success and degree attainment from elementary school to college for students. This model was created and is delivered in partnership with participating schools, community organizations, parents, postsecondary education institutions and the Office of College and Career Preparedness of the Chicago Public Schools.

Community Organizing Initiative-COI builds power and self-determination among low-income youth and families of color, and seeks to create a leadership and power base for disenfranchised young people and their families so that they can exercise their rights by shaping institutional and policy decisions that affect their lives.

University of Hip Hop--UHH allows youth to explore themselves as individual artists through study and understanding of various mural & fine arts forms, urban dance, and to develop as leaders.

You can vote for all of our projects, but only once each.

Chicago's neighborhood festivals are great opportunities for communities to come together in the parks celebrating with friends, neighbors and family members. All throughout the city, the Chicago Park District organizes festivalsand special events which are family focused and offer activities for Chicagoans of all ages.

Community organizations and chambers of commerce periodically sponsor neighborhood festivals which include local parks. Additionally, some parks sponsor mini-festivals to bring the community together for fun and socializing.
