GROW in Illinois Community Mental Health Support Group
When: February 17, 2011–December 31, 2012, 4–6 pm

GROW offers a weekly 12-step support group program for anyone experiencing mental health issues, emotional problems, difficulties coping, addictions. Meetings are anonymous, free, confidential, open to all. Group meets every Thursday at 4:00 PM at the Chicago Lawn Library, 6120 S. CPS is currently sponsoring its annual "Back to School" supply drive. Below you will find the many ways to help CPS with the annual campaign.
Kits for Kidz
Through SchooKidz Inc., a Kits for Kidz program, donors have the opportunity to purchase essential school supplies—pens, pencils, glue and folders—to benefit the district’s homeless students. Kits range from between $11-$18, and are needed for students in all grade levels. The Englewood Jazz Festival is produced by Live The Spirit Residency and sponsored by 17th Ward Alderman Latasha Thomas, 6th Ward Alderman Freddrenna Lyle, State Senator Jacqueline Y. Collins, and 16th Ward Alderman Jo Ann Thompson. The Festival is made possible by the generosity of the Richard H. Driehaus Foundation, The Oppenheimer Family Foundation, Chicago Park District, Senator Donne E. Trotter, Dawk Publishing, and Chicago Creative Arts Online. This project is partially supported by a CityArts Program grant from the City of Chicago, Department of Cultural Affairs.

DESCRIPTION
Silver Fork is a 12-week culinary arts program at Center on Halsted featuring a blended training of culinary skills, restaurant knowledge and job readiness skills. Graduate with the knowledge, skills and assistance to start (or restart) a career in culinary arts.
Upon Completion of this program each participant will recieve the following:
• Illinois BASSET (alcohol service) certification
• Illinois Food Service Sanitation Manager certification
• The chance to put your skills to work by providing catering
at select Center on Halsted events.
• $350 upon successful competition.
• Job placement assistance from our Employment Specialist.
A new 12-week course begins August, 30, 2011. Classes will be held:
• Tuesdays, 1pm - 4pm
• Wednesdays, 1pm - 6pm
• Thursdays, 1pm - 6pm
