Project SYNCERE is Hiring

Project SYNCERE is a 501(c)3 Non-Profit Organization whose mission is to increase the number of under-served students who pursue careers in the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) fields. Since its incorporation in 2008, Project SYNCERE has served more than 1000 students across the Chicago area.

Currently, Project SYNCERE is looking to expand its staff to enhance its reach across the Chicago area. We are looking to fill the following positions:

Engineering Instructor

Job Description:

As an instructor for Project SYNCERE you will be required to manage a classroom of 20-30 students. Each classroom will consist of two instructors who work collaboratively to provide students with a hands-on learning experience. Instructors will assist students in building projects that teach basic engineering principles, and show students how their math and science classes are related. During the school year, classes are held either during the school day for 3-4 hours or after school for 2 hours. Classes are held at each school location twice weekly on either a Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday schedule. During the summer, classes are held 3-4 days per week.

Experience Required:

· Pursuing at least a Bachelor's Degree in an engineering discipline

· Basic knowledge of engineering fields and principles

· Previous work with high school and/or middle school students

Administrative Assistant

Job Description:

As an Administrative Assistant for Project SYNCERE, you will be responsible for assisting the Directors with their daily tasks, such as email correspondence, database creation, event planning, research, etc. This is a phenomenal opportunity for a highly organized and well-spoken administrative support professional with a solid work history and experience to take on an exciting role!

Experience Required:

· Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills

· Advanced Microsoft Office proficiency with strong presentation skills

· Highly motivated and flexible

· Access to a car is a plus

Marketing/PR Intern

Job Description:

As a Marketing/PR Intern for Project SYNCERE you will be responsible for developing strategies to enhance the brand of the organization. You will also be responsible for establishing relationships with local media outlets to garner exposure and publicity. Update monthly newsletters, publications, and social media outlets.

Experience Required:

· Have at least a Junior class standing in college

· Minimum 2.5 GPA

· Design experience with InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop a plus

· Ability to multi-task and manage multiple open ended projects

Community Outreach Intern

Job Description:

The Community Outreach Intern works with the Directors on a targeted outreach campaign to bring our programs to new communities around Chicago. This opportunity affords direct and ongoing contact with community leaders, public officials, schools, parks and other community institutions, as well as other nonprofit organizations. You will also be responsible for planning community events such as volunteer events and fundraisers.

Experience Required:

· Strong writing and communication skills

· Event planning experience

· Ability to keep in contact with community members

· Ability to multi-task and manage multiple open ended projects
