A Parent Workshop on RTI

(Response to Intervention)

Family Resource Center on Disabilities
In Collaboration with the Illinois State
Board of Education and Illinois ASPIRE
 This presentation will focus on the big ideas associated with RTI. It will also highlight how schools  are incorporating its major components (e.g., tiered, research-based instruction and interventions; assessments to determine student needs; progress monitoring) into their daily practices to maximize the results of instruction and make better use of existing resources. South Side Preschool & Elementary School Fair

South Side Parents, Hyde Park Parent Support Network, and Neighborhood Parents Network jointly present this event.

Searching for a school can be an overwhelming process. Thee Chicago parenting organizations are joining forces to present the Chicago South Side Preschool & Elementary School Fair on Sep. 24th, 2011, from 10am-1pm, generously hosted by Maria High School, 6727 S. California Ave. The event is free and open to the public. Free parking available.
This event will provide families in and around the south side of Chicago with an easy way to access and connect with their public and private school options. Meet representatives from numerous schools, as well as enrichment programs and family-friendly businesses from all across the city.
Exhibitor space is still available. Register online via the link above (credit card payment required) or by contacting leslye@npnaprents.org.  Note: exhibitors must be approved by the event committee.

  1. 7th ward- Bookbag give-a-way Aug. 20th   @ Coles School (85th yates) 10-3 p.m. Bookbags are only for residents of the 7th ward and they must bring an ID.
  1. 8th ward-Back to school Parade Sept. 10th contact person Sharon will call desk line with more details regarding this event.
  1. 15th ward- Back to school event hosted by Holy Angels Church @ 5638 S. Ashland Aug 6th 12-4 p.m.
