FYI
Openlands just found out that we will have funding from the state to run a Youth Conservation Corps program again this summer!! We are looking for someone in the community who must have a background in teaching and/or working with high school students and has experience or training in gardening and horticulture. The program has to start June 27th with students, so please send me a resume by tomorrow at 10am if you are interested.
General Program Information:
This summer program will last 6 weeks starting June 27th and will run through August 5th. It will support school or community greening projects when schools are not in session (NOW!) and expose youth to employment opportunities in the greening industry. It is important that students work at their own school or home communities to make a positive impact that they will see on a regular basis. Openlands has been running summer youth employment programs for 12 years, incorporating current best practices and lessons learned.
